If X1 sinks down to stop the pass to the 5 player, the 2 player should be open for the 3-point shot at the top of the key.

2 Golden State Sideline Out of Bounds Plays

By Brian Williams on June 8, 2016

These two Golden State Warriors Side Out Plays are from Scott Peterman’s eBook “101 Plays of the 2016 NBA Playoffs” assembled by John Zall.

You might also be able to tweak these plays and use them, or parts of them, as a part of your half court offense as well.

Golden State Warriors 1 Loop Hammer

This play could also be adapted very easily into a half court set.

Golden-state-slob-1

4 sets down screen for 3

2 inbounds ball to 3

Golden-state-slob-2

4 and 5 set screen for 1 who loops over top to right wing.

3 passes to 1.

Golden-state-slob-3

1 turns corner and dribbles towards baseline.

4 sets hammer screen for 2 to left corner.

4 then pops t o left wing for shot as well.

1 can pass t o 2 or 4 for shot.

Golden State Warriors Scissor Gate

I realize that 2 is starting with the ball inbounds, but this can easily be modified and run as a side out play.

Golden-state-slob-4

4 sets down screen for 5

2 passes t o 5 after cutting t o the perimeter

Golden-state-slob-5

2 and 1 scissor cut off of 5

3 pulls out o f corner and gets pass from 5

Golden-state-slob-6

3 dribbles over to left wing

4 and 5 set elevator screen for 2

AI Cut Double Ball Screen

aicut-double-bs1

2 AI cuts over the top of 4 and 5. 3 clears to the L corner.

aicut-double-bs2

5 screens 4.

4 sprints into a wing ball screen for 2.

5 pops to the top of the key after screening for 4.

aicut-double-bs3

2 throws ahead to 5 at TOK as 4 rolls.

Because x5 is forced high to defend 5’s catch (leaving the rim unprotected), 5’s first look is to
the rolling 4.

If 5 doesn’t throw it, he looks to the left side of the court for weak side action (dribbling at 1 for backdoor, pass to and ball screening for 3; or 1 down screening for 3 to get a DHO from 5).

AI Cut Ball Screen Behind

aicut-double-bs4

2 AI cuts over the top of 4 and 5. 3 clears to the R corner.

aicut-double-bs5

1 drives off 4’s ball screen.

aicut-double-bs6

1 has option to take it to rim or throw back to 2 coming off the double behind.
