Dribble Follows Passing Drill

By kevin roy on March 31, 2023

In the clip below coach Kermit Davis shares a Passing Drill that he calls Dribble Follows

Dribble Follows drill is an amazing drill to use at any time of the year, because it allows us to work on passing and cutting, but you will also have the option to work on post-up game for your guards and wings.

The drill begins with the ball on the wing and another offensive player in the corner. The player with the ball dribbles to the point and the corner man follows and replaces his teammate on the wing.

The player and the top stops , pivots on his inside trailing foot, steps through and passes with his outside hand (left in this video).

After making the pass to the wing the player and the point cuts to the basket.

After receiving the ball on the wing player will sweep and pass to the cutter in the post.

The drill can be used on a dribble from the point to the wing with the opposite wing following the dribble to the point.

It is recommended to have a defender down low with the pad. If you have enough coaches in practice, it is also recommended to add defenders on the entry post-pass.
