More milestones

At the end of our first month for The Coaching Toolbox, we have reached a few additional milestones worth mentioning before March comes to a close. Wednesday was our record for views in one day with 281 visits that day alone. Eventually we hope that number is small by comparison for the bigger things we are planning on. We also had our 2000th visit one week after our 1000th visit, so we hope that trend continues and multiplies! We are up to 20 animated plays and feel that is going to be a great feature for out site. We are working hard with the people at Plays in Motion to post animated plays with descriptions. We hope that April brings as much progress as March did and that you will keep checking back with us!

Milestones

We hit a few milestones last week at The Coaching Toolbox. March 1, 2008 is the official launch date for our site. In those 25 days, we have had 1,290 visits to the site (we had number 1000 last week), 444 unique visitors, and have had 40 people sign up for our Tool of the Day e-mail. We initiated an RSS feed and already are getting subscribers. We uploaded our first video demonstrations to youtube and have links to them on our site. We are continuing to post a new resource on our site each day as well. We hope that if you haven't seen our site, you will give it a look. If you have visited us, please keep checking back for our new tools. Our URL is www.coachingtoolbox.net

Our first week

This post was supposed to have been made Friday March 7, 2008... We have had a busy first week with all of the changes and additions to our site, getting this blog going, and also launching the tool of the day. The post two days have been a busy time reorganizing some of our fundamental, workout, and drill information. We hope that travel team coaches who are just starting their teams will check us out. The project for the weekend is to post as many plays for coaches to take a look at as we can. We appreciate you taking the time to read the blog and hope you will check us out at the Coaching Toolbox!

Tough to keep up

I never realized how tough it is to keep up to date on our blog. We have had quite a bit of action with our site this week. On Monday we began updating our animated plays using Plays in Motion Software. On Tuesday, we received a link from the premier High School Basketball site around, Hickory Husker and our traffic has really increased from that. We are very appreciative of the folks at both of those sites. We could not get this project off the ground without a lot of help from seasoned veterans like them. Our goal is to add at least one new play each weekday. Our topics are divided into Out of Bounds Plays, Zone Attack Plays, Man to Man plays, and Press Offense. Here are some other new items at www.coachingtoolbox.net since our last post: March 12, 2008 Clarified the TEAM OFFENSE tab splitting the former page into separate pages for Tempo, Spacing, Shot Selection, and Rebounding. March 11, 2008 Added a list of The Little Things that make a difference between wining and losing. March 10, 2008 Added Basektball Quotes to the Filing Cabinet. March 7, 2008 Reworked the site map to make it more useful. March 6, 2008 Reorganized FUNDAMENTALS and SKILL WORKOUTS to make the information easier to access. Click on those links at the side to see what's new. The FUNDAMENTALS tab now has cutting/screening, dribbling/holding, passing/catching. posting. and shooting pages. We are working hard to make this a useful site for all players and coaches, so check back with us from time to time as we grow!

What's new...

We now have a What's New page as a feature that will list the new items that are posted each day. Today's new items are (in addition to the Whats New Page).
A page that goes into 36 Defensive Thoughts and Beliefs for you to agree or disagree with as you see fit. A page with concrete thoughts on What intensity looks like on a basketball floor.
We hope that you will check them out at The Coaching Toolbox

www.coachingtoolbox.net Tip Off!

Today we are officially adding this blog to our website. We have posted animated plays, drills, workouts, and many other basketball coaching and playing tools. Our initial groups that we are posting for are players looking to work on their games in the offseason and AAU or select travel teams that don't have a lot of time to search for resources. We are working to collect those resources to save you time and energy. While we are working on those areas, we are also gathering the best resources for school coaches too. It is a large project, but our staff is very excited about it. This blog will highlight some of the new areas of the site. We have our tool of the day e-mail up and running, so be sure to sign up for that when you visit www.coachingtoolbox.net. We would appreciate any feedback on how you feel we can improve the site, so drop us an e-mail while you are there.
